Junior School – Te Kura Teina
Year 9 and 10 Students
Year 9 and 10 students complete an integrated Homeroom programme that covers the curriculum areas of Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Social Science, Health and Physical Education. This allows us to more effectively address the intent of the New Zealand Curriculum which requires schools to provide a more meaningful and relevant curriculum with an emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy. In addition to the above integrated curriculum Year 9 students are rotated through a wide range of specialist taught curriculum subjects (eg; Art, Technology, Language etc). Two of which they choose to specialise in at Year 10. It is expected that students will pursue these subjects at NCEA level in subsequent years.
Students that show aptitude may be invited to take one or more NCEA Level 1 subjects while in Year 10.
Senior School – Te Kura Tuakana

Year 11 to 13 students are encouraged to study at multiple levels, so as to better meet their educational needs, interests and abilities. All Year 11 students must complete a course that requires them to achieve a minimum of 16 Literacy and 16 Numeracy credits. In addition they must choose three other courses of study to make up their Year 11 programme. In Year 12 students are encouraged to complete 8 credits in Literacy. All other subject choices at Year 12 and 13 are determined by interest and need and possible vocational direction.
